Installation

960 Hours is a real-time installation in which the image on the copper plate gradually takes shape over the course of 40 days. Artist Luo Daishi uses seawater collected from the East China Sea in Shanghai and puts it into a teardrop-shaped glass bottle. During the exhibition, the liquid slowly drips onto the copper plate, flowing along a pre-set reaction path. As it interacts with external factors such as people walking, time, temperature and humidity, a unique, ever-changing painting gradually emerges. This work embodies the dynamic interplay of control and unpredictability, highlighting how natural forces, time and environmental conditions actively shape artistic creation.
